just curious, especially for those of you with the 12.9, do you use the Facebook app or safari? I've been a little let down by the fact that oh I don't know...that the Facebook app for iPad Pro 12.9 STILL isn't optimized almost 2 years later! It looks like utter crap and the keyboard is barely useable. It's that old crappy keyboard without the number row. The one from every other iPad but blown up on a screen it wasn't made for. And I can't stand it. So I've been using safari and found that it was actually not a terrible experience. I can use keyboard shortcuts, things are displayed nicely and as far as I can see I'm not missing anything that I'd otherwise get on the app

Only thing I keep the app for now is notifications. What about you guys?

I wonder why some people think the app is so horrible. I feel the site is too cluttered.

Mostly how crappy it looks on the big iPad. I also swipe by accident every now and then when I'm reading something on Facebook and lose my place, whereas in safari I can just open a new tab

Really? I find the website way too crammed with too many things. Plus when you're reading an article or something, it launches within a child webView within the app. Your situation has never happened to me to be honest.

Yes, the app is horrible on my new iPad 12.9 Pro. Definitely needs an update. I guess I'll try using a browser for now.

Safari - I don't trust FB app. There have been instances in the past where the FB app caused battery and other problems on devices. It also sits there collecting as much personal data as it can about you and I know nothing is private anymore but the less and less easy you make it the better it is, for me.

touch.facebook.com set as a shortcut on my iPhone home screen.

"Request Desktop Site" allows me to read messages, so don't need the Messenger app either.

You can do the same on Friendly+. Also dark theme option and a built in ad blocker. It's like FB in Safari on steroids.
