Just purchased the 2020 12.9 iPad Pro and it seems too pretty to have a case slapped on it . I at be in the minority here but does anyone else go with no case?

Yes. When its not being used like a laptop I have it without a case, but i have put a Dbrand skin on the back to make it a bit more grippy.

I use my 2018 iPad Pro with the Smart Keyboard, which pretty much excludes the use of any case. It does a good enough job of protecting the back, and I have been careful enough that the corners are still fine.

No. 12.9 Pro iPad has fallen twice - someone knocked it off a table both times - and in both cases it landed on a corner, shattering the case plastic edging - but no iPad damage. Using a case is a personal preference I stick with.

I'm on my second iPad and haven't had a case for either. I have a smart cover that I used on the first one, although alway completely removed it when using the iPad. For the second iPad I don't use either cover or case

My iPad 10.5 Pro is used without a case and it makes it so much lighter and nice in the hand. It spent it first year in a case but I am now at a point where I am less fussed if it gets dinged. It does have a screen protector on though.

iPad 12.9 2018 is in the Smart Keyboard case for the most part. It's too heavy for comfortable one hand use even without the case and was sufficiently expensive that I value the extra protection.

Aside from the Smart Keyboard when I travel, I never use a case. Keeping a case on them all the time makes it feel too much like a regular laptop and if I wanted that kind of bulk, I'd use a laptop.

I have considered putting a skin on the back, however, just so it's not quite so slippery.

Right now, it's naked (i actually use the protector film from the glass screen protector to put on the back side because my case hasn't arrived. Actually, a case did came, but I purchased the wrong one (2018 instead 2020), magentic folio. But i hear that the magnetic folio (genetic brand) might cause some screen bleeding; so I ordered a regular folio with the soft plastic back to easy take off and on (and gentle to the iPad) when I swap it with the AMK. It gives me anxiety to not have a case on Lol.

Nope. Use my iPad Pro 10.5 with a Smart Cover love it like this. I have a knock off leather sleeve that I use when I need to carry my  pencil as well

Never been a fan of cases, but my 11” iPP feels fragile. While it would probably be fine with out, I’d feel a lot better throwing it in my bag or carrying it outside the house with one.

Ordered a Ztotop folio case with a hard back, not adding a screen protector though.

I have a 9.7 ipad pro and used to use a case, now that it’s older i go caseless. It feels so much better to feel the iPad instead of a piece of rubber or plastic in hand.

I am using my 11" iPad Pro without a case since its launch - only with the Smart Keyboard Folio and now the Magic Keyboard. I have put down the iPad without the folio or keyboard on the desk many times, and so far there have been no scratches.

I always get cases. I find iPads too slippery and I don't like the feel of the edges digging into my palms.

Besides, the cases I use double as stand so I don't have to carry the full weight of the iPad. I prefer thin and light folios/SmartCase clones, though.

I’ve had my 11” since last summer with no case, just a Dbrand skin and a matte screen protector. I only added the screen protector because the fingerprints were atrocious on this particular device. Until now, I’ve carried it in a zippered sleeve from Amazon, but have had the Magic Keyboard Case since last week and now just carry it around in that. I am waiting for delivery of a skin I purchased for the Magic Keyboard. Again, only because I don’t like how it shows fingerprints and oily spots and I’ve heard lots of stories about how this material does not age well.

It is definitely slippery, unlike the recent iPhones' glass back which 'clings on' to your palms. Also, I usually try to prop up the iPad with crossed legs or avoid gripping it too tightly. (Which makes me wonder how the rumoured iPhone 12 is going to fare if it indeed comes with squared edges.)

Most of the time I use my iPad Pro in laptop mode, so then it is in Keyboard case, but when I use as tablet I like to use without case - love the feel in the hand. Has been dropped and got a bit scuffed in one corner which I smothered out with fine wet and dry paper. I look on any marks as signs of use. If it got cracked screen, then I do have Apple care

Naked and bareback feels so good but I’m always concerned about the risk so I don’t do it often. It is so tactile and pleasing to the touch and even my wife agrees that it feels better in the hand that way. With that said, I generally use protection because I don’t want to take the chance of just one absent-minded little slip leading to long-term consequences.

Always use a case with your iPad!

No I have a case on my iPhone and when I had my iPad it was never out of a case. I really don't see a reason not to use a case and lots of reasons to use one. Well one reason would be looks. If looks are important to you and your finacial situation means buying a new iPad once in a while isn't a problem then going without a case could be an option.

Have you had any issues with your Smart Keyboard?

I stopped using mine because where it connected to the iPad, some metal was exposed (after say 6-9 months of use) and it actually scratched the side of my iPad.

I ended up ditching it for a Logitech keyboard/case which also conveniently protects the back of the device and includes a loop for the pencil.

But it's not as nice to draw on like that though.
