What does everyone else think?

This is a poll dude. Thanks anyway

The downside, though is that it will most likely be done through the subscription model. Yes, LR5 can be purchased without a subscription, but I don't expect LR6 too.
If that happens, LR5 would likely be my last LR.
What's wrong with the title?
I hear a lot about the hesitation to move to a subscription model (though you can still pick up LR without). It just seems like if you want to go LR, its pay me now or pay me later.
I've been looking at going to the $9.99 a month plan for LR and PS, and I can't see the downside. Again, pay now or pay later. For $120 a year, that's cheaper than buying the programs independently, and updates are automatic.
What I am missing here?

That I'm paying 120 bucks a year for LightRoom even they don't upgrade it every 12 months and/or I choose to use the upgrade. What I am missing here?

You mentioned pay me now, or pay me later. I think its probably more accurate to say, pay me now, and pay me later and on and on. That's the issue I'm having
That's an interesting argument I hadn't considered. I suppose I'm trusting them to provide timely updates.
One thought I just had: what happens if I want to stop paying? Does the program revert to read only? Obviously I still want access to my images... or do you lose that?
I tried this last night with my subsciption. I deactivated my copy of LR on my laptop. When I relaunched it, it allowed me to use the library module. But as soon as I hit the develop module, a message says "please renew your subsciption to creative cloud". So it would appear you don't lose access to your photos. You just can't edit them anymore.
Awesome news, thanks!
Why? Because for my usecase Aperture is way ahead in terms of workflow and editing features. None of the alternatives fits my needs so well. Keyword: productivity.
