Do you want one: Yes or No?

I just want to see if someone wants a iPad. Yes or no? Very easy question. I dont want to know if you will say yes to when it comes out with something else. I just want to know would you want to buy the iPad AS IS.

NO MAYBES

Yes, this will be great for me since I don't need a second computer. I'm looking for something to use so I won't have to have my iMac on all the time. My touch and blackberry's screens are just too small to visit all the websites I use. All the netbooks I have used are just too much trouble and they don't have any way to sync them with another computer easily. They are also very very slow and battery life is terrible.

I would like to wait a month after it comes out just in case. I am still on the fence between the 3G and WiFi version. I picture using it mostly at home where I have a connection. I could just use my Blackberry if I want to look something up quickly.

I would either get the 64GB Wifi version or the 32GB 3G version. I would also pick up a small BT keyboard (I could use it with my PS3 and my iMac as well as my Blackberry if it's supported), the USB dongle (if it will support my USB media card reader since I use so many different media cards), I would also get the binder-like case for it as well as a third party wall plug. I would also pick up the whole productivity suite and might pick up iWork for my iMac as well.

Seems most of the people are starting to realize what this device is for. Right now the poll is 15-Yes, and 1-No.

If they change the name to iBook, I'll buy one the day it comes out.....

No, I won't be buying one. I have no need for it. If I get bored one day and need a new toy, maybe then I'll buy it.

Absolutely. At $500 this thing is a steal. I can use it on my couch, in bed, or on the train, places where my Macbook Pro is too clunky to be used.

I will be in line as soon as it comes to Japan.

My only disappointment is no front-facing camera. I would love to be able to call home with iChat or Skype and use video.

I don't want one, I want two! One for around the office & one for home!

When some of the Apps get developed, this thing will be amazing! And only $500! :D

Imagine picking up your "Digital Photoframe" off the bench & emailing that holiday snap directly to your family who just asked at dinner after catching a glimpse. Our putting it on Facebook. Or, or, or.... All in seconds, with no transferring, booting up the computer etc..

Imagine how much time you can save around the office, with digital notes, directly outputted to creating tasks lists linked to your calendar, automatically synching to your phone, so that next time your boss calls with a dumb Q, you respond "Ohh, no need to pop into the office, I have that info right here. Want me to email it to you now?" ...... I want it! Hang on..... I think my sanity needs it.

Looks like the iPad will be very popular despite all the whinging and moaning on the forum.

I defiantly want one. For what its designed to do I think it will be excellent.
Going to spend a lot of time cleaning the screen though.

I couldn't agree more. A lot of people don't seem to grasp is that, just because they, or indeed most people wont buy a product, does not make it a failure. Most people do not own macs, I'd argue that they are still pretty successful thank you very much.

Yup. As long as my 3 year old MBP can still boot up, I don't need another computer. I don't game [much] and I it still has enough horsepower to do what I need at uni for engineering.

It'll be my casual use "computer" since about 80% of all time I spend on the computer is casual surfing.

Of course it's going to be popular. Pay no attention to all the screaming geeks on the Internet. This device is not for them. The average consumer couldn't care less about Flash, multitasking and all the other supposed "short comings". Average consumers buy tens of millions of gadgets, geeks buy hundreds of thousands.

Without Skype/video calling the iPad just can't replace the Macbook I cart around to various client sites in Europe. Otherwise this is a great device and would replace my Macbook for business trips.

I guess I'll have to wait for iPadPro:D

Im going to buy one, because it will do everything I need, on the train to college, stick on a movie, or read a book, sitting in bed at night, on a movie, or on Instant messenger and facebook, To be honest multi tasking would have been nice, just so i can do several things at once, (bit of a definition flaw there) but to be honest, at about £300 (GBP) this thing is going to be in my bag several days after release.

Honestly, just think of the cool factor, sitting on a train or bus in the morning, with a 9 inch touch screen device, youll feel pretty damn awesome.

No, and yes.

Don't really see where it will do much for me. Won't replace my laptop for serious work, and I don't use my iPhone for most of the things the iPad would do better.

On the other hand my kids will love it, so I'll probably end up getting two!

I voted no. I want one badly, but I'm not going to get this crippled version. Same reason I didn't get an iphone until the 3gs. Apple just holds too much back at launch, and it's only the second and third generation devices that are worth my money.
