Last night, I started to get a popup on my iPad saying, do you want to download occ? I thought it was a scam, so I closed the popup, but it's come up quite frequently since then.

I see a thread on apple's forums about the same issue, but don't see anything here.

Anyone else have this issue & if so, any way to resolve it?

I have AdGuard and I’ve never seen that pop up. *knock on wood*
gotcha! Now I understand what you were saying. I'll look into an ad blocker & see if that resolves the issue. Thanks for the idea!

Yes, same I am on the iOS 18.1 Beta just started happening, crystal and Wiper parts 1 2 3 Extensions installed. Reocurred after doing a forced restart and clearing all Safari Data, then popped up again visiting a Nasdaq.com pg.

Also prob worth mentioning I noticed that my Block Pop-ups switch was off maybe something to do with recent IOS Update?

Heads Up: I am also getting a message asking if I want to download “sync.” Anyone else getting that message?

Block pop-ups has been activated in iOS 18 Safari yet the prompt to download occ or sync have been increasing in occurrence frequency over the past week. Been discussing with Apple support who are aware and looking into.
