hi, i have transparency turned off because i don't like it, it doesn't seem to serve any purpose and uses resources. but i'd like my dock to be a dark color. i see dark mode makes the menu bar dark too. but i like the menu bar light.

i saw a solution using terminal to separately darken the dock, but when i open a program that wasn't already opened, the menu bar for that program will be dark.

is there any solution to this?

thanks,

thanks, i saw that was a solution, but i was hoping there was one that didn't involve installing a 3rd party app.

thanks

does is c dock required to run in the background?
or can it change actual dock properties and then be closed?

thanks,

it "runs" in the background, I just looked at activity monitor... 0.22 CPU usage and 11 megs memory.

it's tiny, and works great.
But I am running the 3D dock option, so just changing the color of the boring flat dock may use even less.

Since Apple changed the way the Dock runs and removed any ability for the user to customize it at all, you must use a 3rd party app to change anything. Granted there may be some hacks with terminal to change it.. but cDock is easy.
