I hooked up my 80gb iPod Classic the other day to my home hifi using a lead which had 3.5mm jack one end, RCA plugs the other - volume was VERY low.
Didn't feel happy at all having to crank up the volume of the iPod, AND the home hifi to levels, 2 maybe 3 times as much as if I were listening to a CD (on the home hifi).
Does the AV connector leads that use the dock connector solve this?

iPod AV Cables

I seem to be having the same sort of problem, when I connect my iPod Classic to my TV via the AV Cables it loses volume. I have my iPod volume at max and then have to crank my TV volume up high to get decent sound, am I doing something wrong

Hmmm, looks like the AV Connector leads WON'T improve the volume level [over the 3.5mm/RCA phono plug] lead then.....
