Dock for macbooks?

Hi

I am getting a macbook soon and I was wondering is there some sort of "dock" to connect all my devices to?

I want to use my MB as a desktop, connecting it to my 17" LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer and internet cable, but I don't want to constantly be plugging in and out devices.

Ideally the only thing I want to connect is the power plug. I could get the airport express to connect to my printer and the "internets" and a wireless keyboard and mouse. but then I would have to invest a few hundred bucks.

BTW I think that the apple wireless and mouse are just overpriced, is there a good alternative that doesnt require plugging a dongle to the laptop?

any wifi will let you connect to the internet wirelessly, and though I'm not completely sure about this I think that all bluetooth mice or keyboards will connect to your macbook...

btw I have an apple wireless bluetooth mouse and I've gotta say that the white mouse together with the white laptop is just a must own!

BookEndz is the only company I know of that makes docks for mac laptops. They've been around for a few years now and i've heard only good things about their products. I was tempted to buy one way back in the day for my G3 powerbook, but it was a work machine so I couldn't justify paying out of pocket for a home dock.

btw: just personal opinion, but while I like the concept of the mighty mouse (I have the wired version), I have to warn whoever is considering the mighty mouse that the right-click is a little screwy, and was so much of a problem that I don't use it anymore. Basically you cannot have your left finger resting on the left button when you right-click, or it will register as a left-click. The only way to right-click on that mouse is to lift up your left-click finger before right-clicking.

I've been using a mouse for about over 15 years now and my hand is just used to resting on the entire mouse and clicking as needed, without lifting up my fingers just to right-click. I like the might-mouse a lot, but the sensor they use for left + right clicking is just screwy.

Well i agree Mhill, no wonder I have not heard about it.

I guess that is what I wanted but I dont think it has to be that big. Then I remember my first commandment on buying computer accessories, "Never buy expensive proprietary accessories".

I rather use bluetooth a keyboard and mouse and a wireless router or an airport express.

There have been some problems with recent WRT54G models. If you can find a V4 or earlier revision and not the compact model you'll be happier. The WRT54GL would also be preferable.
