Hello,

So much to know.
Running Mojave on iMac.

I noticed on my Dock, that for MS Excel, it shows an arrow on the icon there.
I understand that this is an Alias, similar to the Windows shortcuts.

But MS WORD, or none of the others on the Dock, have this Alias arrow.

Why is it there as an Alias ?
Does it matter ? Any "performance" implications ?

Should I try to change it ? I tried, but it always seems to come back as an Alias.
This seems to be true irrespective of whether i drag another EXCEL icon from the APP Folder or Finder.

If I should change it, would appreciate steps as to how to do it, please ?

Thanks,
Bob

It sounds like at some point, you created an alias for Excel without realizing it. Having it there doesn't hurt performance of your Mac. If there is an Excel icon in your apps folder like there should be, you can delete the Excel alias by right clicking on it and then pick there deleter option.
