Hi guys,

I have little snitch installed on my mac, to protect my privacy, and lately, Dock has popped up saying it wants to connect to eg-www.apple.com

I've searched the forums and googled this, but found no answer.
Any idea what this is, why it's trying to connect and what sort of info it's sending?

Cheers,

Dave.

Are you sure it's the Dock. That would be very strange indeed. I think the main Dashboard host process runs in the Dock process. Are you sure it's not that?

I second the guess that it's a widget. Dashboard is a subsidiary of the Dock.

Yep. it's definately the dock process, and asks just after boot.

I'm betting it's a widget as well, I'm going to disable all my widgets and re-boot, and see what happens then....

Cheers guys

According to this thread, there is speculation that with the 10.4.3 update, Apple condensed the Dashboard processes into the dock.
