I frequently use the Virtual Keyboard and trying to find a way so it is more easily accessible either in the Docking area or at the top right section of the desktop where Spotlight and Siri are. Tried dragging it to both sections without much success. All I get is a large icon that is always visible no matter what I am doing. Especially annonying when trying to watch a movie and there is the icon just sitting there, which causes me to close it altogether.

They virtual keyboard floats above above everything so that it is always accessible for input. When not in use, such as when watching a movie, it should be closed. There is already a menu bar icon that you can use to quickly open it when needed.

What method are you currently using to open the Virtual Keyboard?

I was hoping for a solution to the question posed. Going through system preferences and navigating to where it is how am I accessing it. I know there is a solution because i had called Apple Support previously on another matter and brought this up and the person online did anchor to the top next to Spotlight and it was not floating and always visible no matter what I was doing as was the case previously. But for some reason it is not longer there. Maybe in using and closing it, that setting became lost.
