Hello,

If I create a document using MS WORD on the Mac, and I put into a USB Stick to give to
a friend, will they be able to read it using their Windows version of MS WORD on their Windows pc ?

If not, what format should I save the document in when created on
the Mac to enable them also to read ?

Thanks,
Bob

It depends. It depends upon the internal format of the document, including what fonts are being used.

You mention "read" (as opposed to "edit"/"modify"). If it is for read-only purposes then exporting the document (however it is created on the mac) to PDF and sending the PDF is a better approach.
