Documents to Go Premium 3.0, does it use folders to organize files?

I have Quickoffice for the iPhone but after having read about the updates Documents to Go is doing I'm suddenly underwhelmed.

What I really want to know before I invest money on another iPhone app is whether or not you can organize files in Documents to Go Premium in folders on the iPhone? I remember reading somewhere that Documents to Go didn't let the user do that.

And you're right, it doesn't. Your files are kept in three main areas, where they are just in list form; Local files, Desktop Files and Attachments.

Local Files are those on the iPhone, either created there or saved from one of the other areas.

Desktop Files are those that you "sync in" but if you "save as" they become local.

Attachments is where you access your emails (which works very well) but again, once you've saved it, the file becomes local.

There is also a list of recently opened files.

Having said all that, the app is very good and for my money knocks the spots off QO.
 
Can you e-mail documents from the iPhone...either Local files or desktop files.

Until Quickoffice does a significant update I'm going to have to agree.

You said that a desktop file that gets saved on the iPhone becomes a local file. When you sync does the changed file sync with the original desktop file in the same location?

Can you search the file list?

I have Docs to Go Standard. I have mine organized in files. I had this setup on my computer before syncing to the phone. The desktop sync will copy over your folder structure into the app.

Sorry explained that badly. The Desktop sync folder retains it's hierarchy on sync. It's only when files are saved as on the iPhone that they become local files. And yes, there is a search function

You'll be pleased to know it's the same short & sweet answer (yes). If sending mails from within the app, you can pick which of your email accounts to send from.
