Seems they're listening. This update gives us first line indenting, change font face & size, email files as attachments from non-exchange accounts (MobileMe, Gmail etc.), OS3.0 shake to undo/redo.

And apprently the next update will give us excel editing (no word on when though).

I was fairly critical initially, with many features missing in the initial release, but the more I use this app, the more I love it. It's a fantastically implemented doc editor. I just hope xls editing is equally as good when it comes out.

I just hope they give us access to our files in the cloud; i.e. iDisk, GoogleDocs etc.

This to me is the crucial missing feature.

Me too. But I've found a workaround until then. While this doesn't give me "real" access to the cloud, i've set my iDisk "Documents" folder as a sync folder on the DTG desktop app, so I have all my iDisk docs on my iPhone since I last synced with my MacBook. I've also downloaded a tool called gdd which lets me download all my GoogleDocs to a specific folder, with a single command which I've automated, then add the destination folder to the DTG desktop app. Works well, but obviously I need to remember to sync.

Does this have sending & receiving support for MobileMe? I only saw gmail & yahoo.

Sending yes, receiving no, at least not yet. You need an exchange account to access receieved attachments. But with this update you can send attachments with whatever accounts are configured on your mail app. If you don't have exchange I'd suggest checking out the non-exchange version which has the same functionality for sending files.

Dataviz just replied to my tweet asking about when we can expect the Excel update and if/when we'll see cloud access:

DataVizInc @0delay Excel very soon, almost ready. I'll let you know when we submit. We'll talk about cloud after Excel update is out.

Dataviz have tweeted to say the excel editing update has been submitted to Apple.
looks pretty good. I partcularly like the sheet selector.

Yes, looks pretty good but until DataViz allows access to attachments in non-Exchange accounts (or Google gets its act together and allows MS Exchange Mail sync) QuickOffice has the edge for use on the road. I need to get at attachments on the go and at least with QO I can forward them to their servers and access/edit them before sending on.With DTG I'm stuck until I can get to a computer.

Still, if interested in DTG, best get it before the upgrade is in the AppStore, because then the price goes up.

Has anyone checked if Gmail push (which is using Exchange) can now be used by Docs to Go Exchange edition? That should be pretty sweet.

Looks like it doesn't work with the new google exchange. I think I'm setting it up properly. Getting a ssl error. It does work using Nuevasync.

Hopefully Dataviz offers a solution. There is no reason why this shouldn't work now. Google Sync is using ActiveSync for push.

I've been trying myself for the last 15 min. and couldn't get it to work also. Some guy on their Twitter account asked like 3x about this but there has yet to be any replies from Dataviz.

Same issue. Trying to sync folder with Google throws up a SSL error. However I can send a mail with attachment from within DocsToGo via the Google Exchange account. Hope DataViz sort this though I did wonder whether it's because Google are still using the m.google.com server.
