Have Unactivated 1st gen iPhone that I am trying to unlock. It is running 2.2 firmware and I have got the newest version of quickpwn. I run quickpwn put the bootloaders in for the unlock and everything seems to go ok. When it comes out of jailbreak it says awaiting activation this may take some time and when I put in the t-mobile sim it says different sim card detected. So do I have to activate the iPhone to get the unlock to work or what am I missing. Thanks in advance.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

If you can't get it to work, I I would suggest trying pwnagetool. There should be an option to activate if you aren't using an official carrier.

This happened to me, too, but I found a solution.

Restore the iPhone completely, after restoration is complete, DO NOT restore from back up. Then just repwn it and everything should be good.

Only downside is that you lose all of your contacts and other junk.
