a user on the forum mentioned their iphone speaker after 3.1 was lower than on the 3G iphones!
i mean ringtones and alerts and when u play songs. not keyboard clicks.
I'd say that the lower keyboard clicks are a bug. If you go to settings - sounds and turn the keyboard clicks off and then back on, the sound will be played at the regular (old) volume.
I personally preferred it the way it was, it's completely off level compared to the other sounds now.
Tried that just now. Did not work for me. I miss the old volume. It's harder to hear the clicks now.- I noticed that turning it off and then on gave me a click to let me know what it sounded like. That sound is louder than what it ends up being. Rather annoying. Even at max volume it's not that loud.

+1(Another thing I hope they'll enable one day is allowing the use of custom ringtones for SMS)
Wow I didn't even notice until I just turned on my keyboard click. I actually like it how it is now. Before it was just too loud for the setting of my ringtone like others have said.
It didn't fix it for me either, I was just reporting that the 'sample' you hear when you enable the sound in the settings is played at the regular volume. For some reason it's played lower whenever it's actually used.
Frustrating. :\

anyone find if ringtones really do vary from high to low randomly? or if the ringtones are lower. I mean if they fixed the high pitch on 3gs wouldn't that also indirectly lower volume on 3g
