I'm curious if the 3G connection still works after you cancel until you reach your 250mb or 30 day limit.

I'm concerned about being charged again if I don't cancel on time.

Has anyone actually tested this?

AT&T said on their site that you could continue to use the service for your 30 day period or until your data limit is reached. Check their forums.

Correct, it's prepaid meaning you already paid for the 30 day block and 250MB, so if you cancel the recurring payment before that, you will still have left what you already purchased. The recurring payment is more of a convenience than anything so you don't have to redo your CC info and pay again every 30 days.

I would love to know also, since I would like to cancel now while I'm thinking about it, as opposed to having to remember at the end of the month before they bill me again.

Now you know, read the above posts.

Thanks for being sarcastic, just what I needed.

I hit the reply button, didn't get a chance to type my reply and then had to run into a quick meeting. By the time I came back, typed my reply and submitted it, you had posted in the meantime.

I had also emailed ATT with the same question. This is what they said:

Because AT&T 3G Data Plan for iPad is pay-in-advance with no service contract, you can cancel the AT&T 3G Data Plan for iPad at any time using the Cellular Data - Account View from the device Settings menu:
? From the Account Overview page, you should click Add Data or Change Plan.
? Under Plan Options, click Cancel Plan.
? You will be then presented with two options:
o Delete Account Now - The account is deleted and any remaining data is lost.
o Delete Account Later - Auto-renew of the account is suspended and the account is automatically deleted after 60 days of inactivity.

Did AT&T say anything about being able to reapply later if I don't delete my account now?

I didn't want a recurring subscription so I cancelled and chose "Delete Account Later" right after I signed up. The 3g still works fine, it just won't renew automatically after the 30 days.
