does 3g work on unlocked iphone 3g with yellowsn0w

might seem a daft question but have searched and watched some tutorials but cant seem to find an answer.
i am currently using a 3g iphone with lastest firmware and baseband i have it unlocked using a rebel sim so far no probs (touch wood) only prob is i dont get a 3g connection
with the news that yellowsn0w is coming out this week for my baseband and firmware will using this give me a 3g connection
are people who can use yellowsn0w on the lower baseband able to get a 3g connection with the sim cards of there chose?

What carrier do you use?

If you use T-Mobile in the USA, you will never get 3G. Their 3G is different than ATT's 3G

sorry based in the uk so the phone is locked to o2uk and i m using an orange sim card.
think they both use same 3g frequencys so no issues there. currently 3g with the rebel sim wont allow me to get incoming calls or texts but turn 3g off and i can get these just browsing is limited to edge at best (if no wifi connection were i am )
so just trying to see if yellowsn0w will give me 3g connection for browsing with out affecting my incoming calls and texts if so worth using for me

It's worth a shot. When Yellowsn0w comes out tomorrow, unlock with that and check. It should work.
Are you on 3.0 now?

no just on 2.2.1 with baseband 2.30.03 consodering it only prob is im not sure the rebel sim will work on 3.0 its claimed to work on the beta but if it does then im kind of screwed if it permanently updates the baseband and yellowsn0w doesnt work

Yellowsn0w has been updated to work on the 4.26.08 baseband and 3.0 firmware. It will be released tomorrow along with the 3.0 firmware itself.

any uk users out there who use yellowsn0w currently can they confirm if they are getting 3g connection and incoming calls etc using yellowsn0w if so i ll jailbreak and upgrade to 3.0 when its all available
