I feel like it might be a little thicker and may not fit although I haven't tried yet.

Also does 2020 iMac not tilt downwards as far as a 2017 one? That's my feeling but haven't exactly measured it. It tilts upward a by a lot, but the farthest it can tilt down is barely different from the screen being straight down.
 
From what I’ve seen they’re they exact same shape and size wise

2020 27" iMac? I'm pretty sure it tilts down further than just straight up and down. I'm not at home at the moment though...

I am pretty certain they use the same hinge mechanism which would imply they work and tilt the exact same

I wouldn't know, my 2020 is my first iMac. (I've had several other Mac's, but not an iMac, but it's now my fav!)
