Well, I also got sick and tired of spending $$ on ink cartridges.
Why the heck are there not good quality ink jet printers that let the end user simply refill them?

Sure, I've done the "hack" of drilling my empty inkjet cartridges, then filling them, then using a chip reset device.
Who has not here?

I'm talking about a more robust, consumer friendly refillable ink jet solution.
Oh wait, that will erode major revenue/profit scheme, so Canon/HP/Epson/etc won't do that...

If anyone knows of consumer usage photo quality inkjet printers with consumer refillable inkjet cartridges please post them here. Seems market demand would warrant them.

There are two brands, Canon and Epson. The models vary by size of the paper/print, number of inks (the more the better the color accuracy), and type of ink (dye or pigment).

You might just want to consider investigating 3rd party ink systems. On various photo oriented websites, you can find forums discussing them. Some of these makers have excellent reputations and quality of ink. They make systems* for the main inkjet makers and their models.

So as follow-up, who here uses which model?
I see the Epson line-up, https://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Landing/ecotank-super-tank-printers.do?UseCookie=yes

and the Canon line-up, well none per this search on "refillable"

Are there others besides the Epson brand?
