So I have a 2017 imac (in sig) and a delicious new Vizio P series Quantum X tv and it supports airplay 2.0. Sweet.

I have it all setup properly and I'm able to steam fully wirelessly and basically use it as a second screen but it's just incredibly obvious it's low resolution 1080p. That might be fine for sharing a video from a phone but it just looks really bad on a 75 inch screen.

Is there some sort of setting I can change on my imac? My router can handle a lot of bandwidth but is there just some sort of software limitation that won't let it be high quality?

"Airplay 2.0" made changes only to the audio part.
Airplay Mirroring is still limited to 1080p. If you are watching a video you should not use Airplay Mirroring anyway, but just send the video file with AirPlay.
