Not sure if it does. I see where when you save something you can pick iCloud, but where do you look at everything you have saved there?

As always,

Thanks!

I was thinking about something like this too, that would come in handy.

But apple's solution is probably to just open your text documents in iCloud by opening pages.app or text edit.app (with the iCloud menu). And the same thing applies with images and pdfs with preview.

Wow! That is a VERY weird way to save files. From what I see, you can't drag and drop into the iCloud folder either?

I am assuming you can't put folders inside iCloud to sync either?

So, this is not meant to replace Sugar Sync or Drop Box?

Thanks...so, from within Word for instance, I can't Save As into icloud?

I am a Apple guy, but this seems to really have missed the mark. I have been waiting on icloud to "grow up" but it still can't run with the big boys yet.

Apple's trying to lead people away from a file system approach (open Finder, open file), to a more app-based approach (open app, open file) with iCloud documents. It's very iOS-esque. No doubt people with multiple devices (eg. Me) will love it, but an iCloud option in the sidebar would be sweet.

Apples working on a way to see iCloud in the finder. Might be out with a point update.

Yes, Apple is having a lot of trouble adding a new Finder sidebar option. They are definitely working on it.

Not until Microsoft adds iCloud support.

One iOS app that I frequently use (iFiles) recently added support for iCloud alongside services like Dropbox and sugarsync which it already supported. iCloud support in iFiles allows the user to upload any file to iCloud - just like Dropbox.

I wouldn't be surprised if a similar app becomes available on the Mac platform that lets you upload whatever you like to iCloud, just like iFiles on iOS.

I'm pretty convinced its broken for many users....ex I cant create a document in Pages and have it appear on iCloud.com or on my iPhone but I can create one on my iPhone and have it appear on iCloud.com

Instead of letting you fire up iCloud and see a huge messy clutter of files, Apple decided to make apps manage iCloud, so you can only see what you are supposed to see in an app. This, is the Apple way of simplicity - the walled garden.:p

I guess I am going to have to "Think Different"..lol

Getting people to totally change the way they think of files and folders is going to be tough.

I made iCloud a Favorite in Safari, but I agree, it would be better if it were located in Finder
