Just wondering if i'm totally in the minority on this. I had a gmail address associated with my last itunes account and i decided when i got my 4s that i wanted to start clean with an entirely new itunes account/email (since i didn't really have any purchases associated with it anyway). So when i got my 4s, it let me create a .me email address and boom it was created.

Anybody else use it as their primary email? The only things that worry me are 1) if .me will ever go away and make my itunes account stuck in limbo and 2) if i'm going to start having to worry about junkmail since gmail's spam filter was freaking awesome

I actually have a .mac email address. I've been using icloud/mobile me/.mac/iTools since day one. I suspect though apple will move my .mac email over to .me at some point

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

I'd be careful about this. I have .mac email address associated with my dad's old family .Mac account. I was able to get the same .me address when iCloud came out and my iTunes/iCloud account has no relation to my old .mac account.

Unless when my Dads account expired they put my old name back in use.

Google actually has better support for an email that doesn't rely on a particular provider whether it's Microsoft, Apple or Google. With google apps, you can register your own domain and use google's server. If you have a falling out with google then fine, point your domain over to .me or hotmail.

I have never given out my yahoo, gmail, mac.com or me.com email addresses because I never again want to be in a situation where my email provider goes away and I'm stuck. I went through that once and vowed never to let At&t or Comcast or any other ISP, cloud or other provider own the top level domain of my email address.
