Other Does anyone do this to save the battery life of their phone when using hotspot?

Buy a second cheaper phone just for hotspot usage ?

Or is it better to just buy a tablet or a laptop with 4g lte or 5g connectivity ? Then pay the extra per a month for that one device ?

Yep, I just bring a cable with me to plug my phone into my laptop whenever I even have a hint of a possibility of having to use my phone as a hotspot during a work trip (which has happened a lot). Old Dell laptops used to struggle to keep the phone charged with the old USB A ports, but now with the USB C ports, no problem.

Two phones? Heck no. I’d rather do 2 ESIMS/SIMS with 1 phone than have to carry around 2 phones.
