I used to use the 6S but I find the 8 screen is much much better. The colors and True Tone make it amazing.

Yes, although I don’t have the iPhone 8, I played with my nephews 8+ and the first thing I noticed was how good the display was compared to my 6S

6S+ to 8+. The screen is not better. I'd say a bit worse due to not being as bright. I also prefer the bluer color balance of the 6S+.

I’m having problems with my 8 plus display. It’s blurry when I scroll through feeds, goes kinda yellowy as well. Was at the Genius Bar today and they’re looking into it. They reinstalled iOS and told me to try it for a few more days. I got home and it’s still happening. I’ll have to go back I guess and they will install a new display

You're comparing two entirely different displays that are calibrated differently. The iPhone 6s had a bluer/starker tone compared to the iPhone 8 that has a much warmer/dimmer tone to it.

I think that's turning TrueTone on, plus the wider color gamut. In every case when I've experimented the colors warm up/blue cast goes down. I personally like the warmer tone, although at least one iPhone X I used went too far in that direction by default.

The iPhone 8 has been confirmed/remeasured to have a dimmer display even over the iPhone 7, including the iPhone 6s. Which is speculated Apple did that to conserve power. It's not due to True tone, assuming that it's turned off.

Read through this thread as it discusses other comparisons as well of the iPhone 8.

Doing a little googling pre-coffee shows that some tests show the iPhone 8 ahead of the iPhone 7 in brightness by a fairly substantial percentage. For example, the Notebookcheck.com review: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Apple-iPhone-7-Smartphone-Review.173851.0.html#toc-display
