Ok so I recently converted over from my powermac g5 2.0ghz and a 1.33ghz powerbook to a 8-core mac pro and a core 2 duo imac (still working on getting a decent intel macbook pro for under $600) and has anyone else noticed that if you have a big tower that is slower. And something slim like an imac that is faster than that tower when under load the tower feels as if its not struggling?

just another one of those things that I toss around in my head while I wait for videos to export :D

Besides single threaded tasks where you would not notice a difference. Perhaps you have a bottleneck somewhere keeping the Mac Pro's performance down.

My mac pro has always been pretty quick, starting to slow up a little now, but it is 5 years old and never been turned off for longer than a day or two.
