Does anyone else notice increased temps when using inertial scrolling after update?

I updated this morning with the inertial scrolling on my macbook air rev. C. I believe that while using the inertial scrolling my temps go up significantly.
Would appreciate any feedback from those who are using this new update. I think the temps remain as before except when I use the inertial scrolling. But if I use it for a moment or two the temps spike. Perhaps it is a cpu intensive process.
I also note that normal scrolling seems a bit more jittery.

I'm using a Rev. A, and while I haven't noticed a rise in temps, using iStat Menus, I can watch the processor spike by just scrolling up or down a page once or twice. 5 scrolls up or down, and I have to wait a minute or two for the computer to even be responsive.


I'm beginning to regret not only this update, but purchasing this laptop.


EDIT: It seems to have calmed down. Now I only get the usual processor spikes and slow downs. I still wouldn't recommend an MBA to anyone I actually liked, though.

Not good.. You can turn off inertial scrolling in the Trackpad settings, right?

Interestingly, this driver update doesn't even show up on my Software Update (I have Air Rev C). Did it show up for you guys, or did you install it manually?

Not showing up on my software update either. I THINK I have a rev. B. (1.86, 128gb SSD).

Installed it manually.

It wasn't in the software update but there was a link to the download on the MacRumors announcement of the update.
Has anyone else noticed the spike in temps when using the inertia scrolling? The person with the Rev. A: so far I have no problem with using the inertia scrolling or slowing down of the computer. It's more of a temp spike. At least it seems that the temps go up faster when using inertia scrolling. but maybe they always spiked while scrolling on the internet.
Any other observations would be appreciated.

I just installed it manually. Haven't played with it enough yet to notice any difference with temps.. But the inertial scrolling is certainly a BIG improvement, when scrolling long webpages..

This may be a stupid question, but how are you Rev A peeps getting the inertial trackpad update? I downloaded it manually, but it says I need to have 10.6 or later. Is there a way for me to get that? Thanks for the help.

Ahh, I see. Didn't think about buying snow leopard. Leopard works fine for me, and inertial scrolling isn't worth $30 to me, so I'll just hold off. Thanks a lot for the reply.

geez if you're that hard up I loan you the $30

seriously tho, the upgrade to SL is so worth it compared to 10.5 - much faster and intuitive - oh and by the way you can get inertial scrolling thrown in for free.

I have a macbook rev C and I installed the inertia update and I have noticed my temp went up about 10 degrees F. I even tried disabling the inertia scrolling and my temp remains the same. I wonder if there is a way to rollbakc the update or something.

Surprisingly i've had no problems with the update on my Rev A. I didn't think i'd be able to get it as I had to go and find it.

I just wanted to chime in and say, although I have a MBP, this happens as well (although not to the same extent), so it's not a MBA-only phenomenon.
