I use the pro for work and the air for home use. If so, what are some differences that you have noticed? For some reason I think the Air and Pro keyboards feel a little different. My pro gets better battery life and brightness of course. I think I like the Air keyboard a little bit better than my Pro. It feels a bit less mushy. Not sure how to explain it.

It’s likely that keyboards vary slightly even amongst the same models.

The only differences are that the Pro has more battery life which Apple claims is 20 hours and Apple claims the Air has 18 hours. And the Pro has 500 Nits of brightness and the Air has 400 Nits. Last thing, the Pro has higher Dynamic Range of Sound than the Pro.

Performance and battery differences are overwhelmed by particular use parameters, hard to notice. I can tell the difference in the sound and mike. Keyboards feel the same. I miss the Macbook Pro Touchbar on the Air but seem to be in the minority with that.
Looking at both I would first maximize your purchase dollars on RAM (-> 16GB), then disk (-> 1Tb or 2TB.) After that the Pro option is nice.
BTW, I have never heard any fans. Size feels the same.
