Compared to the keyboard that came with my Mac Pro and also my Macbook Pro i find it harder to type on the air.
It's flimsy, doesn't feel solid, and the key travel is not as soft.
what do you think?

Since my MBA has been my only Mac I may not have a whole lot to say but compared to various PC laptops I've owned I prefer the MBA keyboard.

MBA keyboard

Over the past several weeks I typed quite a bit on the new alum macbook and the air revB. I must say that the typing experience on the alum macbook did feel better to me (IMHO). I couldn't really pin point why. Maybe the travel distance or the spring of the keys? What ever it is, it's not a deal breaker by any means.

well, i sit in class for 6 hours, 2x a week so for me typing up notes for that long is all about finger stress...

i dont know i also feel like i tend to have fat finger on my MBA more often (I know I know the keyboard dimension is identical.

For me, the MacBook Air was the easiest keyboard to type on v. MBP and MB. It's totally effortless and quite comparable to the sleek aluminum wired and wireless keyboards that Apple currently has available on the market.....

MBA is the best notebook keyboard I've used to date by FAR. It's on of the top reasons why I bought this notebook.

Comparing it to MBP, Sony, Lenovo, Dell, Toshiba notebooks the MBA is my favorite, very fast and easy to type and I make fewer typos.

that's the first time i've heard someone say that MBA's keyboard is better then MBP...to each his own i guess..
I feel that MBA's keys are not tightly nestled in their groves, thus you get a lot of play=flimsy....

It still is a great keyboard considering its size but it can be improved maybe in REV C:confused:

I found it to be very nice when I had one for a short period of time.

different than a macbook pro

I just picked up an Air after having used a 15" PowerBook G4 followed by a 15" MacbookPro at work, and the transition is noticeable and there is a different feel to them, but not really in a bad way. I also use an old apple external keyboard (the crumb catcher variety) which is really mushy but allows me to use my laptop in clamshell mode while in the office.

I have no problem with mba `s keyboard. The best laptop keyboard i`ve used was thinkpad x61.

Compared to all my other white apple keyboards, this one sucks!

These black keys are very toy like, not professional!

The plastic feels cheap and they squash in every direction.

My MBA keyboard feels different from my MB keyboard. Since I got the MB first it's the one that feels more "normal" to me, probably because I got used to it first.

The MBA does feel a bit less firm in terms of the actual keyboard presses, but I don't find it bothers me at all. Going from one machine to the other is pretty seamless. I don't make any extra mistakes on the MBA keyboard or anything.

Hmm... I really like the keyboard.

Heck, I wrote this past years NaNoWriMo novel on it... 70,000 words and I thought it was far superior to the previous year when I had a Dell.

And the light-up at night action is excellent. (I like to write in the dark)

I think it very well made, far far better than my previous MacBook (Black polycarbonate plastic). I type quite a lot on it, lots of reports etc.
