Maybe I'm doing something wrong here but I find the Remote App to be extremely counterintuitive?

It has me chose between "My Library" or "Apple TV" which I'm not sure why because the new Apple TV doesn't store anything. I don't have independent volume control via my iPhone if I'm playing from "my library" but I do if I'm playing through "Apple TV" library.

The "control" part is only available when playing through "Apple TV" but that library doesn't pick up half of my iTunes - so I'm not really sure why that library is even listed. Why not just have "My Library" available with all of the remote control features instead of switching back and forth? The Pause/Play functionality is also messed up when doing this.

Using my Remote App and trying to switch between libraries also confuses my iTunes and Apple TV. If I'm streaming music via iTunes and send it to Apple TV it switches to the last thing I had playing via Apple TV but retains the cover art from what was playing on my computer.

Trying to work out some of the bugs on my own but it's getting to just be really cumbersome.

one controls your atv, the other controls your itunes on the mac.

Yes, but starting out in one place and sending it to another just confuses the hell out of both components. And for some reason my entire library isn't viewable via ATV.

what are you sending to the other device? are you playing music on your mac and then streaming the audio to the atv?

can't help you with the missing library. i don't have the new atv, but i can see the contents of my entire library on my old atv - 15,000+ files, 1.5 TB of data.

Yes. I find the "do you want to connect to Apple TV and then your library" or "Connect to you library then play through Apple TV" an unnecessary complication too. Almost like they were designed by two separate teams and hadn't quite thought things through. Very un-Apple like. Hopefully it's something that will be sorted as part of a bunch of firmware upgrades in November when AirPlay is released.

I hate the buffer between when you use it and use it a few minutes later, it has to re-join the ATV connection even though its "running in the background".

I have also noticed that it's doesn't always pick up my commands ie - touching the menu button or pausing/playing. I'm on a 3GS.

It only took me a few minutes to figure everything out.

I think there is a little bit of room for improvement, but I already find the "Remote" app to be fairly intuitive. It's certainly the best such touchscreen remote I've seen.
