Does anyone have any recommendations for a portable mac friendly GPS unit?

My dad is as avid of a mac man as myself. He and my mom do a lot of horseback riding in some of the state and national parks. He is looking for a good GPS unit that can be used in the car and then detached and taken with him on the horse. (keep in mind the horse doesn't have a 12v jack )
Any thoughts on this one?

I would also be interested in a GPS unit, I enjoy wandering around looking for things, but I often wind up very lost, I'd love to be able to whip out my PowerBook and GPS unit and find where I am, and how to get where I want to go.
