I noticed the Magic keyboard with Touch ID is $150 and mouse is $80. And the price is even higher if you choose a black model or substitute a keyboard with number pad or add a trackpad. It is easily an added cost of $250 which makes the M4 iMac a pretty amazing value since it includes keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

To anyone getting the M4 mini, do you have OCD to the point where you also need matching Apple accessories?

My OG 2012 magic trackpad finally gave up the ghost a month ago, so I replaced it. My OCD made me buy the (non touch) mini keyboard to match. The trackpad is great, but I have to say the new keyboard is disappointing. Feels flimsy and cheap. Resist that OCD urge, and check out other options.

If you do want the Apple stuff I recommend checking out eBay as you can generally get a keyboard and mouse bundle around half the retail price

(A lot of business customers and the like upgrading their iMac fleet or whatever and don't need the bundled keyboard / mouse / trackpad so you don't get any fancy packaging but genuine Apple kit, obviously check feedback first of course!)

Sort of. When I got my M1, bought two space gray Magic Trackpads to match a custom keyboard I was using, no regrets.

Agree on the ebay route. Just have to look at the listing carefully and check the seller's feedbacks for similar items sold. If timing is right bargains can be had.
