Since Apple has stopped letting us transfer apps from our iPads and iPhones, I have no way to get the copy of the eBay for iPad Version 3.6.0 that I have on one of my iPad minis and transfer it to iTunes, and then transfer the app from iTunes to my other iPad mini that used to have the app, but it somehow got deleted.

And unfortunately, Apple has removed the app from my purchased apps list and it is also missing from my iTunes.:(

I've tried extracting the app file using the program from imaging.com, but I can’t find a way to convert the .imazingapp file to transfer a .ipa file so I can transfer it to iTunes.:(

So now I have a permanent download from the app store icon on my phone, and I can no longer re-download it onto my 2nd iPad mini because this app is no longer available in the App Store. I have tried looking on the web for this .ipa file, and I can’t find it anywhere.:(

So if anyone has the eBay for iPad 3.6.0 .ipa file, can you please share it with me, so I can get it into my iTunes and then transfer it to my 2nd iPad mini?:) Thank you.:) You are all my last hope of getting this app back onto my 2nd iPad mini....

According to Lifewire.com:
  1. If a friend or a family member has the app, you can get it from them. It won't work through Family Sharing since that uses the App Store. If they have it on their computer, though, they can get it to you. In that case, they need to navigate through their hard drive to the folder where that their apps are stored in.
    1. On a Mac, this folder is at Music -> iTunes -> iTunes Media -> Mobile Applications
    2. On Windows, it's located at My Music -> iTunes -> iTunes Media -> Mobile Applications.

I only have 5.5.1 which is from November 11, 2016. 3.6.0? That must be really old. And what do you mean by removed?

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ebay-buy-sell-save-money/id282614216?mt=8

Have you tried to use iTunes 12.6.3.6? This is the last version that can download IPAs and upload them to all devices.

Try this version and also follow these steps (to download IPAs and reupload them into your devices):

Hi Perene.:) Thank you so much for replying to my request for help.:) The eBay for iPad app was available in the App Store until 2015 or 2016, and it was specifically designed for the iPad only. I believe the 3.6.0 was the last version of this app before eBay discontinued it. So, I’m not sure what eBay app your 5.5.1 is.... The eBay: Buy, Sell & Save Money, for iPhone and iPad app, that is currently available for download in the USA App Store is version 15.5.0. So, I think the eBay for iPad app version 3.6.0 is the .ipa file I need. But, if you can send me the 5.5.1 .ipa file, I’m willing to give it a try.:)

Also, when I say Apple removed the purchased apps, that are discontinued, from my purchased list, here is what I mean:
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2015/10/07/app-store-apps-disappearing-purchase-history/
So, Apple has been removing apps from purchased lists, if the apps are no longer available in the App Store.:(

And I have tried using iTunes 12.6.3.6. It is the iTunes I currently use. But, Apple has prevented apps from transferring from devices to the iTunes library since IOS 9.0. So, even if you try to transfer your purchases, they won’t transfer!:( The only way you can get an app into your iTunes library is by downloading it directly from the App Store. And if the app is not available in the App Store, even if the app is on your device, you will not be able to transfer it onto your iTunes library.:(

So, the only way to get a discontinued app onto your iTunes library is by getting the .ipa file for it. So, I am hoping that SOMEONE out there will have the eBay for iPad version 3.6.0. .ipa file.

Thank you, Perene.:) Hope you’ll let me know what eBay app the 5.5.1 is.:)

Hi again, Perene.:) I think the eBay for iPad version 5.5.1 is the German version of eBay for iPad app. What do you think? Am I right.:) If it is the German version of eBay for iPad, I would love to try it please, if you can send me the .ipa file.:) Please let me know.:) Thank you, Perene.:)

Hi Teeceman.:) Thank you so very much for trying.:) You are truly kind and I’m very grateful to you.:)

I wonder how other people share such large files... Thank you again for trying, Teeceman.:) If I find out how to safely share such a large file, I’ll message you again.:) Thank you again!:) I won’t forget your kindness, Teeceman.:)

You cannot share .ipa files. They are attached to the Apple ID of the user who downloaded it. Even if you could get it form a third party, you would need their Apple ID and password to install it.

Did you check the Mobile Applications folder? you might still have the ipa if you used iTunes to back up that ipad in the past - as far as I know the only time iTunes deleted the ipa was when there was a new version to replace it. There is a good chance you might have it on the computer you used to back up / update the ipad?

Hi.:) I checked the iTunes media/mobile applications folder and the eBay for iPad 3.6.0.ipa file is not there.:( I think I might have accidentally hit the “update all apps” button when I first opened up my iTunes, in my attempt to try and get the “eBay for iPad” app to re-load, instead of showing the “download from cloud icon”, below the app badge, on my iPad mini... well, whatever I did made the .ipa file disappear.:( That is why I am trying to get the .ipa file from anyone who has the eBay for iPad 3.6.0.ipa file...

These recent changes by Apple, of getting rid of old apps, getting rid of the App Store, preventing apps from transferring to iTunes from our devices, have made life so difficult for a lot of people, including me..

I wish there was a website that had all the .ipa files available for download.. We need such a website now, with this mess created by Apple...

It is worth a try... I already purchased the app previously, so I think it might still work.

No, it wont work. Each .ipa is registered to the user. If you get info on the .ipa in iTunes it shows your name and Apple ID.
Then, how are other people doing it? There is a thread on here where someone needed the eBay 3.6.1 .ipa file and someone uploaded it right in their reply in that thread and the person who needed the .ipa file said that it worked.

Its possible the .ipa wasn't downloaded via iTunes with an Apple ID. Maybe it was pulled directly from the servers. Over the last 9 years, on dozens of occasions I have tried to share .ipas and it is not possible. Once you put it into iTunes to sync, it will ask you to authorize the computer with that Apple ID.

Hmmm... that hasn’t happened to me so far...
Just a few days ago, I found the “eBay for iPad IOS version 3.3.1.ipa” download file on the web and I got that .ipa file added into my iTunes, so now I have the eBay for iPad 3.3.1 in my itunes with the app icon showing in my iTunes library. But, it can only be downloaded onto a device that has a earlier IOS than my device which has IOS 11...

So, if someone shared their eBay for iPad 3.6.0 .ipa file with me, I would be updating the 3.3.1 app that is in my iTunes... I want to at least give it a try.

As I mentioned in my post that you quoted, you can put it into iTunes fine, its when you attempt to sync it, it will ask to authorize it via Apple ID.

Well, I would still like to try and see for myself, as it is my last hope of getting this app back onto my iPad mini...
[doublepost=1509473969][/doublepost]So, if I originally had the eBay for iPad .ipa file in my iTunes and it got deleted, where would the .ipa file go? Would it be sent to my recycle bin and just sit there until it’s emptied, or will iTunes/Apple make the file disappear off my computer?

It asks you what you want to do with the file, move to trash or stay in folder.

That’s so strange.... I saw the eBay for iPad app badge in my iTunes library when I first opened my iTunes (I hadn’t used my iTunes in over a year because I was backing up my data to the iCloud). And it had a “update” red tag on the eBay for iPad app. I accidentally clicked on it, and then the app completely disappeared from my iTunes library. It never asked me anything about keeping it in the file or anything... What do you suppose happened to it? I wish I could go back in time and not click on the update....

When you click update. It deletes the old .ipa. Probably sent it to the trash and then you emptied the trash without realizing.

Maybe you have an old laptop / mac? or a back up drive that might have the old version of the Mobile Applications folder?

I have an an MBP with lion OS and several cloned drives and they have older versions of the folder (with the older ipa's) - that might be worth the effort to search for the ipa ?

I had backed up my iTunes library to an external hard drive, but when I checked the iTunes media folder in the external hard drive, the mobile applications folder was empty, much to my surprise.:( So, I guess I’m out of luck and options... Thank you, everyone, especially Teeceman, for trying to help me.:)
