What is "it?" Photos, Numbers, phone calls? Lack of Airdrop?

I have Mini 5 and it's nice to see open tabs in Safari on my iPhone vs using Edge on iPad and Galaxy phone.

Feels like there's a question you aren't asking.

Note 10, iPad Mini 4, 2014 Macbook Pro. Works fine for me. Once in a blue moon I use airdrop/handoff between iPad and Macbook, but that is not often. I'm a pilot so my iPad is my workhorse in the airplane, other than that I don't really use it, unless I find a good book to read. My Macbook is my workhorse at home, phone is my workhorse when I'm out and about. I had an iPhone 8 and it was nice to send/receive iMessage on my Macbook, but it is not a deal breaker for me. I am going back to iPhone for my next upgrade if my MB is still going strong, but for now this combo works fine for what I need.

I use a Samsung Note 9 and an iPad Pro 12.9"

I had found myself feeling that recent iPhones were less interesting, that IOS worked well on the iPad, but less so on the phone.

Having decided to change from iPhone to Android, and knowing I wanted to keep my iPad, I spent time researching and planning the move... Swapping out Apple music for Spotify; moving my photo library to Google photos; using Whats App instead of messages; and adding my gmail account to my mail app.

It took some careful planning, but everything works well, and I don't regret the change.

I'd love to come back to Apple for my next phone. But not at any price, and only if the phone/IOS combination feels better for me at the time.

where hip is spoken
As others have mentioned, the question is a bit vague.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A20 smartphone and 2018 9.7" iPad. They work great together. Since Apple insists on keeping their ecosystem more closed than Google's, I lean to using Google apps and services. For photos, music, mail, etc. I can access and interact with my information equally easily from both my Android phone and iOS tablet.

For productivity on-the-go, I use Google Docs suite. This has allowed me to simply take my phone and pocket folding-keyboard to meetings rather than a laptop or iPad w/keyboard. Then when I'm at my office or home, I can pull up my notes and then rework them into something for long-term use.

But for documents that I need to print and/or distribute, I use iWork (specifically Pages and Keynote). I can work on these docs seamlessly on my iPad, iMac, Macbook Air, or Google Pixelbook. I haven't tried using iWork on my phone yet (that's next on my list). Also on my list is the screen projection capabilities... it sounds like I should be able to cast my phone's screen to a TV... couple that with support for keyboards and mice, and there is some promising possibilities... Once I have time to experiment with these, I'll start a thread in here describing what is possible.

At this point in time, given the current state of iPhones and the direction that Apple is going with them, I can't see myself going back to an iPhone.

The combination of the Apple Pencil 1 + 2018 iPad + my Digital Planner/Journal for GoodNotes, has completely eliminated pen and paper notebooks. As much as I enjoy my Pixelbook and Pen, the state of the quality and quantity of Pen-supported apps for Chrome and Android is abysmal... worse than the early days of the Surface RT (and THAT was bad!).

Galaxy s10 plus and 10.5 iPad Pro. I use google apps like Drive, Photos, Gmail, to stay synced. I have a 2019 iMac as well but I don’t use any of Apple’s apps since they’re not cross platform and I don’t need them. I use google messages on chrome to text from my iMac or iPad.

I give a ton of credit to Google on this front. Their open development of both iOS and Android has made the iPad the best Google tablet on the market right now.

I have done the Android phone/iPad thing multiple times. Overall it works really well.

Thanks everyone I think I am going to switch to a android phone but still use my iPad as well with it! That way you get the best of both worlds!

Not positive yet but almost.

I got a ton of different devices both Apple and Android. I have an intended use for each and every one. Android devices range from ancient 2.2 and 2.3 all the way to version 9. I prefer the older Samsung devices myself since the UI design at least for me is better than anything modern and especially better than what Android is doing today.

I swapped my Home Phone unit's sim into my Galaxy S5 and it's now a mobile backup line (it actually works and provides data). I use my iPhone/Watch mainly but it's nice to relive the glory days of Touchwiz Nature UX (I always felt fond of it, it's what I defaulted to when iOS 7 was too ugly to use) or play some music I forgot I even had on an old Archos Android 2.2 micro-tablet (2.8 inches).

I just today started using my Galaxy S5 as an IR remote, and found a very nice skeuomorphic app to 'turn' my S5 into a remote.

Email seems to be the easiest to sync since it doesn't care which platform I'm on.

But for photos, I got a old laptop running Ubuntu Server that's got all my files (I don't believe in cloud drives) and I uploaded my photos to iCloud for Apple devices and just copied them over the network to an SD card for all my Androids. That way every photo I've made or got is on each device regardless of OS. No syncing but still.

Music same way. All data is backed up to the file server laptop and an additional one on a MyCloud drive. I never have to worry about my music stopping due to no signal or needing wifi or 4G. Yes, I'm that guy who has all 1,000+ songs in his pocket in 2020.

I got a Pencil because it was on sale and because my iPad supports it, but to be honest it's like all the S-pens of various generations on multiple Notes/Galaxy Tabs. Just sits in a drawer unused. At first, it was a way to touch the screen and avoid fingerprints. But it never felt quite right. The Pencil feels like it'd shatter my iPad screen if I tapped hard enough.
