Does anyone here have the Hisense Sero Pro(Nexus 7 knockoff)?

I am looking to upgrade my wife from the original Kindle Fire and this is getting a lot of praise and is cheap, $129 at Wal-Mart.

Look like 2012 Nexus 7 knockoff. But seems like a good purchase for only $129.

Usually these types of tablets don't last long if you can you should save up a few more bucks and get an official one.you will have a better experience

The Nexus 7 is pretty inexpensive as it is, I'd go for the real deal. Plus I just inherently hate/distrust Walmart.

I do tend to believe you get what you pay for. It's just a bonus that Google eats so much of their own production costs for their Nexus products.

Don't do it. Most of the Chinese off-brand tablets are made with rejected, but still working parts. A lot of them overheat, have half-working digitizers, fragile microUSB ports, and they break within 6 months.

This is true. In the end it will be as if you had just wasted the money. It's better to go to officially and you also get support if anything goes wrong

I kept messing with it at Walmart and thought it as a good replacement for the 1st Nexus 7. But when I learned of the new one coming out, I just waited and picked it up instead. No regrets with spending the extra money whatsoever.

Your better off finding a used first generation nexus 7 or just spending the extra money for the new one.

I've read reviews stating that the HiSense Sero is actually a decent tablet (for the money). Question, have you considered a 9" Nook HD+, you can get those "refurbished" for around $110/120 and they have a killer high res screen and now have access to Google Play store for apps. I don't personally have one, but have been impressed with the screen and build quality when poking around at Best Buy and B&N.

Referring to the Nook HD+? Yes, it has access to the google play store, so you can load up emu apps and the kindle app.

If you're ok with rooting, you can put CM10.1 on there by dualboot on the MicroSD slot. According to those that have the tablet runs CM10.1 best (CM10.2 too buggy) and even better than the skinned B&N experience.

If I were to get one, I'd load Nova Prime from the play store and have a somewhat stock looking experience without having to root.

They retail for $149/$179 for 16gb/32gb respectively so if you don't want a used or refurbished one. Plus Barnes & Noble is giving a $20 gift card when you buy with them online or in store.

I've been tempted due to the low entry cost, but already have a Nex7 and Nex10 taking up my time so really I can't justify another Tab even if I love the gorgeous screen and entry price.

How bout an even lower price? I expect that to happen if stock is not depleted by the holidays.

Most expect the 16gb Nook to be a Black Friday $99 firesale....would that make the 32gb $129? That'd be pretty sweet...reminds me of the Touchpad firesale of two years ago!
