Well after loving my APM for over a week, I thought I'd give my Bowers & Wilson PX7 headphones a try. It hasn't been that long since I used them. I don't intend to give a full review between the two headphones. There are already reviews on the Internet about APM vs. the PX7.
Well the first thing I wanted to test was the PX7's BT range vs. the APM. Well, friends there is no contest. I can barely go out of the small room in which the M1 MacMini is being used with the PX7 when I get instant drop offs and then no music.
With the APM I can go through the entire first floor of my house, outside to the patio, and even to my curbside mailbox and still get a great connection with my APM. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm a nutball. But if you have an APM flaunt it!
So how the heck do the APM's accomplish this? They don't have WiFi, of that I'm sure. BTW, I don't have my iPhone with me as I wander, so I don't think the APM is "piggybacking" on that.
Any thoughts on how the APM's get such a great BT range? I just find the range so handy when I want to wander the house and attend to things without having to carry my iPhone or iPad.
