I use SwitchResX for custom HiDPI resolutions on my M1 MacBook Air (native display) (using 1792x1120 HiDPI right now). I haven't upgraded to the public beta of Monterey because I don't want to risk losing the functionality offered to me by SwitchResX. Has anyone tried SwitchResX with Monterey, and does it work just as well?

Hello, yes noticed that too. Clearly doesn't work with Monterey!
It's a very useful site for checking prior to any upgrading.

EasyRes does work, FWIW. I don't have SwitchResX installed, found it to be overkill for my needs.
Will EasyRes allow me to install custom HiDPI resolutions for the native MacBook Air M1 display? Depending on my work environment, I toggle between 1760x1100, 1792x1120, 1840x1150, and 1920x1200. I use SwitchRes to install the resolutions I want, but RDM to toggle between them (see attached screenshot; display 2 is sidecar).

I agree with Howard, best to install it and see. I could show you what EasyRes offers me for my 2012 retina and my external Dell of the same vintage. EasyRes would look at your more up-to-date config and no doubt offer you a very different list.

I'm aware SwitchResX is very powerful, allowing one to try many custom permutations of XxY. Whether EasyRes would work for you only you can say.

Also, since you are a SwitchResX customer, don't be afraid to chase the developer re status on compatibility with Monterey on MBA M1 since, as we all know, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease". Maybe it's just around the corner.

it works... but what i am finding is that when i was on Big Sur, a reboot resulted in my custom resolution automatically working. whereas with Monterey (just installed last night) every reboot takes me back to 4k. and i have to manually select my custom resolution.

there is an option to set an auto startup resolution, but it does not appear to be sticking. i have an email into Stefan to ask about it.

the daemon seems to be working, just a glitch it seems at present. or maybe just me.
