free memory with the push of "ONE" button on the springboard/mainscreen? I have sbsettings and it has the free up memory" option under the process tab which is nice but......... is there an app/widget maybe that i can put on my dock that i can push that kills running processes with out going into other apps first?

Why do you need to free up memory? Free memory is wasted memory. Your phone will free up memory if it needs it.

I have something in a post at modmyi (my name is fubaya there) that is sort of about this. There is a script going around to automatically free memory every few seconds and automatically quit mail, ipod, and safari. It's a really bad script that, to my horror, is becoming very popular. BigBoss even refused to host it, but the guy kept writing it and making it worse, and he's writing it by googling how to write scripts and incorporating everything he finds in it. It's a bad idea to begin with and it's ugly, so I posted a simple script that you can click to kill the Apple apps and toggle the free memory thing hoping people may use it as an alternative.

I use it to kill the Apple apps, I added the free memory line in there since everyone likes to free memory (which I don't think is really necessary). Go read that post and download the zip below. If you just want to free memory, delete the other four lines so it looks like this:
