OP, here's the Buyers Guide section for iMac. If you look at the historical release dates/ time, one is due relatively soon it would appear.
Of course no one knows until Apple actually releases an update.

That was a lie. They're actually discontinuing the iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook and Mac Pro.
Just kidding. That post was a joke as well, as no one knows when they will come out.

I heard that as well, replacing the iMacs with a 30 inch and 24 inch Ipad plus adding a Thunderbolt port to the iphone 5 to replace the MBP
iMac? What is this strange device you speak of? Oh, you must mean i-PAD. They should be releasing another one of them in the next 20 minutes or so. Then the new iPhone. Then by tomorrow we'll have the iPad 4. Can't wait for iPhone 6. But it'll be another 3 days before that comes out unfortunately.

I was told by someone high up at Corporate Apple that the new iMacs will be released on their scheduled release date!
