I have looked at Behance several times over the years and always go away thinking I need to do more work on my portfolio first! Just wondered if anyone was using it and if it was useful or just another place to fish for compliments?

I do, but only because it was free as part of Adobe's Creative Cloud. Though I've gotten a couple of minor jobs from it, it's mostly for "fishing for compliments".

In your case, since you already have a website with stunning work, you probably wouldn't need Behance.

Behance is a very good idea to have. Graphics artist and 3D artist on forums I frequent have gotten a fair amount of work from people browsing Behance and seeing their stuff.

I have it through my subscription to creative cloud, but never used. Don't quite understand what it's for.

I also have it throughout Adobe CC which was what reminded me. Interesting that you have got work trough it, that is a good sign. Thanks for the compliment (I wasn't fishing!), although I have a website, any more opportunities to publicise and attract clients are welcome.

Thanks, this is interesting I am going to have to give it a try.

Me neither. I'm starting to get my head around it though. As a platform for creative sharing and collaboration with potential for being spotted by art directors it might be useful. I imagine it is particularly strong for those with a unique style and few direct competitors.

I have it.

I used it as a portfolio of work to send a link to potential employers.
It is also attached to my Linked In account.

When I came in for an interview at my current employer, I was meeting with the Dep't head, afterward she wanted me to meet with the designers. after 30 minutes wait, they came in and while going through my physical portfolio, the one designer commented that seeing my work on Behance beforehand was nice and able to gauge my style/approach.

*I am a graphic and web designer
