If you look at the spy photo of the banners already up at the WWDC hall, you can see 2 macbook airs... one of them has a different screen bezel... is this the rumored 14" macbook air?

Does anyone really want a big Macbook Air? Kinda defeats the purpose... or does it?

What do you think?

This site shows a good look at the different screens in the posters

You know, for me, reading these kinds of articles is kind of like watching Loose Change. Completely ridiculous and kind of embarassing. I don't want to say anything personally about the author of this article, but to look at a blow-up of an iPhone and go "iPhone...or iPhone TABLET?!?!" is kind of going over the edge in speculation. Not that there's anything wrong with it! I'm not saying he should take his article down, or we should not talk about rumours, but for me, some of them just seem a bit dumb.

Its silly speculation. Its just that the image in the banner has been stretched to fit. You can also see that the iPhone is stretched as well.

Ask yourself do you seriously think Apple would release that?

Im sure your saying to yourself no, and that would be the correct answer!!! :D

there is really no reason to have a 13 inch Macbook Air and a 14 inch Macbook Air. It seems kind of pointless to have both.

I think people see what they want to see. I can't see why :apple: would bother with a 14" MBA. The wide aspect of the 13" gives you plenty.

I think it's speculation by people who don't have girlfriends, or wives, or lives... ;)

Can you find me a 14" widescreen display?

I'm sure it was mainly used for 4:3 aspect ratios.

I don't think Apple will go back to that, not now.

Not gonna happen. It will make it too confusing for people. Do I need 13? 14" 15" There's very little dividing the 2 models and customers will never be sure which one to get. 13 and 15 is a good way to diversify their product line.

I say they slim down the bezel to MBP width and give us a smaller MBA, but I think the base of this thread is just pointless.

Do people honestly believe the only reason the Air is the size it is right now is because the bezel around the screen is so large? :D

Yeah because Apple always puts its up and coming products on a banner for the world to see before they actually announce them.

For example: HP 6910p, Acer and more. 14,1" 1200*800 widescreen.

Same res as the current MB and MBA 13.3" screens, no thanks.

Interesting, Apple used to do a 14.1" 1024 x 768 screen for iBook, so technically the 1280 x 800 13.3" for MacBook does a little better.

I can't see the advantage of having a 14" screen over a 13.3" screen if they both have the same resolution.

Well the question was are there 14,1" widescreens? so i answered that.

And yes you can also get higher resolution: 1440*900 in 14,1" widescreen. Dell Inspiron 1420 is one such example. Lenovo propably has this too.

Well the Lenovo X300 has a 13" 1440x900 screen that's also LED backlit; tell me why move to 14" when it's already available for the 13"?

wouldn't a bigger screen defeat the purpose of the MBA...

I want the standard macbook to look like a fat MBA:D

Well I personally prefer my 13,3" to be 1280*800, because the readability is better.

1440*900 would be a good resolution for a 15,4" in my opinion.

I don't like tweaking fontsizes and zooming.

But ofcourse this will be different for everyone, just a matter of taste.

PS. Those pictures at WWDC might aswell be a 15,4", or am i missing something?

Everything that banner leads me to believe the issues people are seeing can be corrected by stretching the banner horizontally. Maybe the angle has skewed the banner, maybe it was printed incorrectly, but it is definitely not a 14 inch mba. If someone cares to try and stretch the image horizontally, maybe we can stop this foolishness.
