I am just wondering because maybe you could help me. I applied a few months ago to work in an Apple Store and just recently got an email - the store wants me to come in, bring a resume, fill out some paperwork, etc, with a few other "select" candadites. Does anyone know what this "informal meeting" entails - and my probability of getting the job? Thanks.

i think that since they called you- that's a very good sign. apple stores seem to hire fairly often, too. i'm actually going in for an interview tomorrow- but definitely make your resume and everything (make it in pages:p ) and good luck.

sorry my response isn't that helpful, but i dont think that there are many on the boards that used to work for apple (if you currently do you can't post on boards such as these).

Ok about the resume:

You say to make it in pages? I am using an updated resume that is only 1 page. It is like a resume I would use for any job application, only I changed some words around to make it more "Apple-store" appropriate. I am not going to use the resume I filled out online at Apple Jobs - (I'm assuming this isn't the one I'm supposed to bring in, right?). So I'm just wondering if this would be/look ok.

Also, do we need to bring in a Cover Letter? Thanks!

He's referring to Pages, Apple's quasi-word processor app.

I called some at the Apple Store in copenhagen yesterday, and they told me to mail the boss of all danish Apple Stores:D

I sent him a short resume by mail, I hope I could get a summerjob there.;)

These hiring events are pretty informal. Basically, they're looking for seasonal employees, so you working for the summer isn't necessarily going to be held against you. These things are usually just to get a feel for how outgoing you are, your personality, and your creativity. Don't come off as a mac geek, just be yourself, be cool, and you should do fine. Not sure about the resume...I never gave them one when they hired me.

Anyone currently working for Apple wouldn't be able to help you.

I used to work at an Apple store, and if they call you in for an interview, you're pretty much hired unless you really suck in the interview.

Good luck. It gets insane on the weekends.

Wow...this seems so surreal. They say nothing about an interview in the email but I'll dress my best.
