Does apple have like a quota "limited views monthly" for every developer account? Do I need to have another account to get more install + impressions??

1- I used in the old day when I upload an app for the first time to get about 200k impressions = more installs for any new app I send but this is no longer happens.

2- I don't see any much difference on my profits I know this: from my ads analytics/daily impressions almost the same range every day.

I'm looking forward to understand the changes so I can improve my efforts and ROI. Is it legal to have more than account on app store?

There are no quotas, but there are many more apps and since the top lists were replaced by Today... most apps will get less impressions.

Also there is no section for new apps and there used to be one. Overall, the offer is so huge that it is harder to be seen.

Thanks, What do you think about the best ways to get more installs for our apps

I don't know if my advice will really be helpful as I am still trying to find a good answer myself. Even though my app is in top 1000 in rankings in many countries including the biggest ones, it does not get that many downloads.

Some things that have definitely helped, assuming your marketing budget is $0 like mine:

  1. Make the app free - this is probably most important, paid apps are mostly dead unless you have either massive wallet or clout. After changing my app from paid to free+iap, I made as much in a month as I have in two years during which the app was paid.
  2. Get the app reviewed in online journals, the broader the audience the better. In my experience getting featured in a general public magazine will get you tons of downloads and about the average conversion to paid rate. Getting featured in tech magazines will bring you less people but the conversion rate can be almost 100%.
  3. Get featured by Apple. Now, I have not got a real feature yet, but once my app was featured in a pack of apps in Thailand and during this week my impressions were over the roof. I mean, they went from tens of thousands to over a million. Now, sadly, as my app is not translated into Thai and probably was not really good for their market this did not do almost any impact on sales. But, I can only imagine what an effect it would have if it were featured in a US or Chinese store.
  4. Get on social media, interact with people, if they like your app they may re-post your announcements. With a large enough fan base this can be very helpful.
  5. For points 2, 3 and 4 your app needs to be really good, but that goes without saying.

Marketing and advertising. But note that you will be competing against other developers with potentially much bigger ad budgets and a lot more marketing expertise.

The installs of one of my iOS apps has gone way down since the number of competing apps has gone from around a dozen to nearly a thousand (maybe more, it’s hard to count).

There is also a one shot solution (that I did not know of until I accidentally stumbled upon it). If you have a paid app for some time in the App Store and then make it free, it will get caught by probably hundreds of various "price has gone down" aggregators, this will give you quite a boost.

But overall it is against the (sad) rule no 1: make the app free.

A lot of those free downloads seem to be by people or bots who never ever run the app.

Definitely. At some point I was doing so myself. Basically download anything that is on AppsGoneFree that looks halfway decent and then delete it almost immediately. But at the beginning event a 0.5% conversion ratio can be good if the volume is alright.

Anyways. Personally I am quite out of ideas on how to actually make good money on the App Store without a marketing budget. As a side thing it is quite okay but I am far away from being able to make it into a job.
