Does Apple have a history of letting you purchase a "refresh" if you just bought

I couldn't take the wait anymore, so I bought my iMac last Thursday (this thing is AWESOME, btw). Anyway, if the refresh comes next Tuesday, would Apple give me some sort of return deal to buy the new iMac? I didn't know if they had a history of doing this.

Just curious. I might not even fool with it because this i3 iMac is perfect. LOVE that screen.

You have a 14-day return period with no restocking fee, so even if they have a special rule, you won't have to worry about it, as long as you still have all the packing materials

You have 2 weeks from the date of purchase to exchange it no problems and no questions asked. Now, all you have to worry about is if the refresh will happen by next thursday! I am in the same position as you as I just bought an i7.

It runs everything well, even all the current games at full resolution. Portal 2 is stunning and I am running it on full in native 2560 x 1440 resolution with full effects and getting around 60 fps...so this system is no slouch. Two worlds two is stunning on full as well.

All in all I don't really think the refresh is going to be that big of a performance boost. Maybe 10% for me. Maybe a bit more for you with the i3.

Depends on what you are using it for though. If you are using it for email, surfing and listening to music you don't need more than an i3.

If you want it for gaming then a beefer system would do you well.

A friend of mine ordered a MBP the DAY before the refresh and apple just shipped him the equivalent model of the new ones (base 13")

Web surfing, iPhoto, iTunes, and iMovie. My 5-year-old loves PhotoBooth.

This is great info on the 14-day policy. Might take use of it. I am so happy with this iMac though....I waited too long.

Odd side note, but take a look at the game Spore. The lower levels are very kid-friendly and let you create cool lifeforms.

Within 2 weeks of your purchase sure. If you buy and then 3 or 4 weeks later apple updates the line, then no, not really.

I've been "about to buy" for about a year. So, yes, I jumped the gun.
