I know you have said you would rather stick with Apple products, why though? If it is some business requirement thing, fair does. If it is a vanity thing i.e. Apple is better than everything else I think that is pretty daft. The Apple products market is tiny compared to the other options there are available to you, and to totally write them off in order to have something that is expensive and flashy yet not necessarily being any better would be a pretty poor move in MY opinion.
There are hundreds of different monitors out there, some at great prices, some great quality, and it would certainly be worthwhile to maybe at least have a look at them.
I may be a bit off here, but is Apple's policy on dead pixels not something like upto 15 is an acceptable amount on the larger screens, whereas companies like Samsung and Dell, 1 dead pixel and they will give you a new screen. Wee things like that are a big deal to me, and if you are paying the Apple tax, you would like it to be perfect.
