Hi all,
Wishing everyone all the best for 2025.
So I figured it was time to sort out the mess that is my Apple Music Library. All my songs are lossless (ALAC Codec) and around 90% are matched. I use a tagger program to make sure the metadata is correct.

However I have issues with Soundcheck. Although it does a "semi-decent" job of playing everything at the same volume, it doesn't always work and I seem to lose a lot of "punch" in some of the tracks.
My tagger program has the ability to edit the Track Gain/Peak and Album/Gain peak in the extended tag.

Will Apple Music read this extended tag and playback at the set Gain? And do I have to have Soundcheck enabled in order for this to work?

Have a great day all

So, from my own testing, Apple Music doesn't appear to read the RG in tags. Worth a try I suppose.
Soundcheck works to a point. Just wish, Apple would allow a user to set soundcheck at a certain level instead of forcing it's own on us...
Oh well, will just have to turn up the volume
