Hi,

I am anxiously waiting for 10.6.3 (don't ask why...).

Does anyone know whether Apple has EVER released an OS X point update (10.5.2, etc) on a Friday?

In other words, if it doesn't come today, is there ANY chance it will be released tomorrow?

Steve.

I am wondering, is this update going to cost something or do you just have to pay if it goes to the 10.7 series. Am new to macs since January so haven't had an OS update yet. And damn, nice avatar rdowns, lol

How do they determine what will be a major upgrade (you pay for it, name change from tiger to lion or whatever and, 10.5 to 10. 6, etc.) and a minor, free upgrade (10.6.2 to 10.6.3)? And yes, I'm a mac newbie so please don't make too much fun of me that I don't know this.

Major Updates, cat name changes, usually include tweaked UI's and more programs/features for the Operating System.

Minor Upgrades are usually things like patches.

And as we all know, a cat name change requires a key note speech too.

The point updates for Snow Leopard and Leopard:

10.6.2: Monday
10.6.1: Thursday

10.5.8: Wednesday
10.5.7: Tuesday
10.5.6: Monday
10.5.5: Monday
10.5.4: Monday
10.5.3: Wednesday
10.5.2: Monday
10.5.1: Thursday

I believe you have to go back to 10.4.8 in September 2006 to find a Friday release.
