My iBook battery just died...is it possible to get a replacement for it if i'm still under cover by AppleCare? I dunno if it really died or what but will I get a replacement for it?

Batteries are not covered unless the failure was due to a defect.

I got the battery replaced in my iBook 2 years in to my applecare term. I blamed it on the computer and not the battery and apple just replaced the battery. If you do a search you will see my post on what was happening and the final outcome of the situation :)

Sadly, as WildCowboy has said, batteries are not usually covered under AppleCare. Although, you may have some luck if you go Ed H's route. :)

Link to the thread or waht keyword should I use to search?
The battery is still chargable...the only thing is, when it's fully charged, it'll start of at around 99 percent, then when it's used for a couple of minutes, around 5-10 mins, my laptop shuts down all of a sudden and I try restarting it, it can't be restarted unless I plug in the P.Adapter. have tested a few times and same results.

That's exactly what my dead iBook battery does. Download coconutBattery and post a screenshot of what it shows.

Edit: Here's mine...notice that's capacity is down to 4%. I get no more than 10 minutes of battery life out of it.

its covered

of course your battery is covered (former apple tech here). From what you describe the battery is way defective, or it's connector to the logic board, or the logic board, could be any of those, so you need to get it checked out. If it shuts down like you say it should be easy to diagnose with, say, a battery from another ibook.

yeah now that u mention it, i've the feeling it's the connecter to the logic board rather than the Battery itself...

From what you can see it's inacurate really sometimes. 2k months? If it's already 2k Months, my AppleCare would be gone wayyyy long time ago...
