hi, im looking to purchase a media streaming device for my parents, thats something easy to use. youtube has a movie rental page now, only seems to work on pc, i was wondering, are you able to access the movie page on youtube, through appletv? if not is there a device that does?

No

And why not just use Netflix or buy the new movies with iTunes

Netflix has a lot of good docus your parents will like it

It cant get any easier than an apple tv my friend

The iOS interface of Netflix is the best ive ever seen

I believe YouTube rentals are only available on a computer or select Android devices.

From YouTube:
Movies rented on YouTube are not available for streaming over the YouTube app on mobile devices. Instead, they are available to stream and/or download on the Videos app of select Android devices.

For movie rentals - iTunes rents movies. You can rent and watch them on the Apple TV.

If you are looking to buy iTunes movies, you have to purchase those through iTunes on your computer and then home share them to the Apple TV.
