I am thinking of jailbreaking just to get Backgrounder back. Miss that app! Does it work on the iPhone 3GS?

It works fine for me. First it does backgrounder but if I continue to hold the home button then it goes to voice control. Maybe your holding the button to long?

Well with backgrounder on all my previous firmwares you have o hold it down till the application closes. I cant get it to work for nothing. Oh well. I have SBsettings and thats all that matters.

i would delete and re install if i were you. the background is enabled message comes shows after about a second of holding down the home button. it does work nicely with voice control since you have to press the home button for 2 seconds before it turns on.

Got it after reinstalling. Thanks for the tip. Hooray for pandora in the background.

A bit off topic but now that you mention Pandora I just installed from Cydia something called Pandora Controls and it works great, it allows you to listen to pandora in the background and if you are on another app and press the home key twice, controls like the ipod controls apear to allow you to skip or pause pandora.

well with the extra power of the 3GS there is no lag or anything when something is running in the backround... you can be running pandora, browsing the web, checking email, and anything else and everyhting will run silky smooth

It works okay, but nothing compared to pre 3.0 in my opinion. You cannot select apps to be on automatically and there are no badges, something I really liked after a while. It just has basic on/off controls but like others said, the phone can handle a lot more memory wise.

Thanks for the heads up. It works great. As good as the regular ipod controls. Why doesn't apple allow this stuff? I will never understand.

After using Backgrounder all day I have to say it is a lot better on the 3GS. I haven't had any crashing and I have even tried having three things running! Couldn't do that before easily. Recommended!

Wow

Fantastic gave in and JB the 3GS and having backgrounder and Catigories alone is worth the Jailbreak. Why Apple doesn't allow background apps is beyond me. would have been allot better to add Backgrounder to the 3gs instead of the battery precent, but both of these apps are fantastic I have steered clear of most other apps just because I happy with these! Also I am going to make a donation to Geohot! what the heck with these too fixes I am now content with 3.0

Opie thank you i dl Pandora Controls as well and I'm loving it! Thank you

Cydia won't let me install it. It goes to a screen saying "Note: The requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed."
